OATAS / Kelly’s Appliance
Working software for the work behind the service.
OATAS is an operational platform built by Shane Spencer for Kelly’s Appliance. It connects data from Rossware ServiceDesk with a custom data platform, AI-assisted retrieval, and Slack-based support for the team.
The starting point
An established service business already has systems its team depends on. Replacing everything at once is not the only way to introduce useful automation. OATAS began with a custom integration that brings legacy ServiceDesk data into a separate operational platform.
Connecting the pieces
The integration runs alongside the existing remote desktop and server environment. A Supabase-backed application brings that information together with retrieval tools and agent workflows. The Kelly’s Automation Bot gives the team a Slack entry point into the system.
- Legacy integration: connecting existing service records to a custom application.
- Information retrieval: making operational knowledge available to AI-assisted workflows.
- Team access: bringing assistance into Slack, where questions and handoffs already happen.
- Ongoing development: improving the platform as the business adopts it.
What this project demonstrates
The work spans integration, data architecture, application development, and agent behavior. The interface is one part of a larger system that has to fit the way the business operates.
OATAS is used in production at Kelly’s Appliance. The live application and its operational records remain private.
Where the work goes next
Further adoption, training, and maintenance are part of the work. A future commercial product is a possibility, not a currently available SaaS offer.
